Mr. Lai King Min, the Vice-President [Internal Affairs] attended the opening ceremony of the new Sarawak State Legislative Building (or known as DUN [Dewan Undangan Negeri] Building Sarawak) by Yang di-Pertuan Agong Tuanku Mizan Zainal Abidin. The new DUN Building at Petra Jaya, Kuching near the Astana. 28.07.09
Mr. Chiou Huey Ping (Vice-President [External Affairs]), Ms. Josephine Li Fang Ying (Council Member) and some members attended a briefing on IR and HR organized by Malaysian Employers Federation (MEF) at Harbour View Hotel, Kuching. 07.08.09

Mr. Joseph Lau Ka Hoo, the Secretary-General attended a luncheon hosted by Department of Polytechnic and Community College Education (DPCCE) at Four Points By Sheraton, Kuching. The Director of Sarawak State Planning Unit was invited to present a briefing on "Sarawak Manpower Needs at the Sub-Professional Level". 14.08.09

Mr. Wee Pei Chai (a representative of Concreted Paper Products Sdn Bhd, SMA Council Member) attended the Opening Ceremony of SME Merdeka Expo 2009 officiated by YB. Tuan Haji Mohd. Naroden b. Haji Majais, Assistant Minister in the Chief Minister's Department (Bumiputera Entrepreneurship Development). The three-day Expo was organized by Sarawak Bumiputera Entrepreneurs Chambers (DUBS) at Kuching Waterfront. 18.08.09 - 19.08.09
Sarawak Investment and Trade Dialogue and Seminar on the Manufacturing and Services Sectors held at Riverside Majestic Hotel Kuching attracted five hundred participants including members of SMA. The opening ceremony of the Seminar cum Dialogue Session was officiated by YAB Pehin Sri Haji Abdul Taib Mahmud, the Chief Minister of Sarawak. YB Dato' Mustapa Mohamed, the Minister of International Trade and Industry presented keynote address and chaired the Dialogue Session. More than 500 participants attended the Dialogue and Seminar.

At a business dialogue with YAB Pehin Sri Taib Bin Mahmud, Chief Minister of Sarawak with the presence of other federal and state ministers on 18 August 2009. We appealed to YAB to allow us to use a small part of the Borneo Convention Centre to display Made-in-Sarawak products and services so that any business visitors whether local or from abroad could view all under one roof. In connection to the above, SMA Delegation visited Borneo Convention Centre Kuching (BCCK) and paid a courtesy call to Mr Trevor McCartney, the CEO of BCCK. 11.09.09
