SMA Activities Report (March 2017)
Mr. Lai King Min (Honorary President), Mr. Joseph Lau (President), Mr. Stephen Hii (Secretary-General), Mr. Sim Cho Phong (Deputy Secretary-General), Mr. Tie Tung Wei (Treasurer), Mr. Louis Hii Lu Yik, Mr. Chai Tze Bui (Council Members) and Mr. Yeo Eng Hock (Executive Secretary) attended SMA Breakfast Networking on 1 March 2017 at 38 Food Street, at icom Square, Pending Road, Kuching.
Mr. Lai King Min (Honorary President), Mr. Joseph Lau (President) and Mr. Stephen Hii (Secretary-General) met Mr. Anthony Ng (2nd left), the Chief Executive Officer of MIT Academy Sdn Bhd at Sarawak Career and Training (SCaT) Fair 2017, held at Borneo Convention Centre (BCCK) on 3 March 2017. They were discussing about the Government Grants and Study Tour organized by the Academy.
Mr. Joseph Lau Ka Hoo, the President attended the 263rd Sarawak Industrial Coordination Committee (ICC) Meeting at Wisma Bapa Malaysia, Kuching.

Some members attended a Briefing on the Amendments and Expansion of the Pembangunan Sumber Manusia Berhad Act 2001 at Hilton Hotel, Kuching.
Puan Rahimah Tuah (Assistant Manager-Card Sales & Marketing, Petronas Dagangan Berhad, Kota Kinabalu, Sabah) visited SMA to promote their SmartPay Cards. SmartPay Card allows purchases on a variety of products and services offered at Petronas, including petrol, diesel, lubricants, car wash, auto-service, and all items sold at the Petronas Stations.

Some members attended Briefing on Economic Outlook by Bank Negara Malaysia at Kuching Branch. The briefing in conjunction with the release of Bank Negara Malaysia’s 2016 Annual Report, provided an in-depth analysis of the current economic developments in Malaysia as well as an outlook of domestic and global economic growth.
Some members attended Seminar on the Malaysia Energy Efficiency and Solar Thermal Application Project (MAEESTA) at Pullman Hotel, Kuching. MAEESTA is a national initiative supported by the Government of Malaysia, funded by the Global Environment Facility (GEF) and implemented by the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO).The project focuses on improving thermal energy efficiency in industrial heating and cooling processes, process optimization and the utilization of solar thermal energy.
