SMA Activities Report (October - December 2006)

The meeting was jointly organized by the ICT Unit of the Chief Minister`s Department Sarawak and National Broadband Plan Secretariat from the Ministry of Energy Water and Communications (MEWC). 17.10.06 The Honorary President, the Vice-President (External Affairs) the Deputy Secretary-General, a Council Member (Mr. Sim Cho Phong) and some members attended Briefing on Halal Certification organized by Ministry of Industrial Development at at Sarawak Industrial Promotion & Exhibition Centre, Jalan P. Ramlee, Kuching. Manis jointly organized by Sarawak Development Institute and Marine Fisheries Department at Grand Continental Hotel, Kuching. 07.11.06 4th Council Meeting 13.11.06 SMA Council Members led by the President paid a courtesy call to Encik Ismawi Ismuni, the Permanent Secretary of Ministry of Industrial Development, Sarawak. 13.11.06 The Deputy Secretary-General attended Biodiesel / Biomass Symposium 2006 jointly by Malaysia ¨C German Chamber of Commerce & Industry and German Energy Agency, a project supported by the Federal Ministry of the Economic and Technology, Germany at Kuching Hilton Hotel. 13.11.06 The Vice-President (Internal Affairs) attended Sarawak Chamber of Commerce & Industry`s 55th Anniversary Dinner at Kuching Hilton Hotel. 16.11.06 The Secretary General attended Annual Dialogue Session organized by the Companies Commission at Holiday Inn Kuching. 18.11.06 SMA organized the 2nd Talk on ICT at SMA Meeting Room. 23.11.06 The President attended a luncheon hosted by Malaysian Industrial Development Finance Berhad (MIDF) at Crowne Plaza Riverside Hotel, Kuching. 05.12.06 Mr. Peter Phang, the Director of Hong Kong Trade Development Centre, Kuala Lumpur visited SMA. A briefing on international trade fairs in Hong Kong was presented by Mr. Phang. 08.12.06

The Speakers from Matrade, SMIDEC, SIRIM and MTDC presented their papers at the workshop.
