SMA Activities Report (January - March 2008)
The Vice-President (Internal Affairs) attended the Media Awards Night of Ministry of Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs at Merdeka Palace Hotel, Kuching.
The Vice-President (Internal Affairs) and the Executive Secretary attended a Briefing on National Single Window For Trade Facilitation (NSW) of Malaysia at Kuching Hilton Hotel. The briefing session was organized by Ministry of International Trade and Industry in collaboration with DagangNet Technology Sdn Bhd. The National Single Window (NSW) is an electronic system that enables a secured, safe and efficient electronic exchange of trade-related documents.
The Secretary-General attended State Consumer Affairs Council Meeting at Dewan Asajaya, Holiday Inn, Kuching.
The Vice-President (Internal Affairs) attended a Talk on Traditional Knowledge Documentation jointly organized by Sarawak Biodiversity Centre (SBC) and Sarawak Development Institute (SDI) at 2nd Floor, Conference Hall, Wisma Bapa Malaysia. The Speaker was Dr Rita Manurung, SBC Chief Operating Officer.
The Secretary General attended the 201st Sarawak Industrial Coordination Committee (ICC) Meeting at State Finance Secretary's Office, Wisma Bapa Malaysia, Kuching.
The Secretary-General attended the meeting for Economic and Industrial Development Committee, Sarawak Development Institute at Ministry of Industrial Development, Sarawak.

Mr. Lim Ghim Hui (Honorary Advisor), the Vice-President (Internal Affairs) and the Executive Secretary attended the funeral of the father of Mr. T'en Kuet Fah, a Council Member of SMA.
The Secretary-General attended a meeting on SMIDEC Annual Showcase (SMIDEX) 2008, at Ministry of Industrial Development, Sarawak.
The Deputy-Secretary attended the third meeting of Malaysian Employers Federation (MEF) East Malaysia Region at Wisma STA.
The Vice-President (Internal Affairs), 2 Council Members (Mr. Chai Koh Haw and Mr. Sim Cho Phong) and some members attended a meeting on the increase in the price of raw material has impacted on the Food Industries. A press conference was held after the meeting.

11th Council Meeting
The Secretary General attended the 202nd Sarawak Industrial Coordination Committee (ICC) Meeting at State Finance Secretary's Office, Wisma Bapa Malaysia, Kuching.
Mr. Peter Phang, the Director of Hong Kong Trade Development Council in Malaysia visited SMA and was welcomed by the President, the Vice-President (Internal Affairs), the Deputy Secretary-General, the Treasurer and a Council Members (Mr. Chai Koh Haw). A briefing on international trade fairs in Hong Kong was presented by Mr. Phang.
