The RosettaNet

RosettaNet is a globally supported standards organization that provides unmatched leadership in promoting internet-based business standards that align processes within the global high-technology trading network.

The RosettaNet initiative takes it's name from the Rosetta Stone. The stone was created over 2,000 years ago and discovered in the city of Rosetta, Egypt in 1799. It was inscribed with 1 message in 3 ancient languages; Egyptian hieroglyphics, Demotic, and Greek. It helped to unlock the then unknown language of Egyptian hieroglyphics and used as an open and common standard to interpret hieroglyphics. Like the Rosetta Stone, Rosettanet is breaking language barriers and making history.

RosettaNet is used and endorsed by more than 500 companies around the world. RosettaNet members stay active in the standards development process, continually finding new and better ways to achieve a globally networked supply chain. Founded in 1998 in the heart of Silicon Valley, RosettaNet has affiliates in Europe, Australia and Asia and continually evolve standards to promote collaboration and efficient global business. The government of Malaysia, through SMIDEC, has provided financial incentive in the form of matching grant to encourage Malaysian companies to adopt and implement RosettaNet. The grant is 50 - 70% of the approved project cost is borne by the Government and the remainder by the applicant. The maximum grant allocated per company is RM100,000.
