Sabah International Expo 2010 (SIE2010)

The Sabah International Expo 2010 (SIE2010) will be held from 14-18th October 2010 at 1 Borneo Hypermall, Kota Kinabalu, Sabah.

The Sabah International Expo is Sabah’s premier trade exhibition targeting on the economic development priorities of the State. Over the years since it’s inception, Sabah International Expo or better known as SIE in short is known as the most representative international exposition in the State. It has strived and progressed positively towards making the Sabah Economy grow immensely. With the focus in providing a platform of opportunities for the industry players, buyers and visitors in their quest for market expansion and business growth, the event has gained the confidence and participation from both Malaysian and international exhibitors. The show is widely recognised and is a must-visit event.

Jointly organised by The Federation of Sabah Manufacturers (FSM), Malaysia International Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MICCI) Sabah Branch and the Ministry of industrial Development Sabah (MID), SIE is a Sabah State Government sanctioned biennial event.

The objectives of the SIE are:

(1) To create the awareness on the potential of Sabah to the regional and international market, particularly on the trade and investment opportunities in the: Agriculture, Tourism and Manufacturing sectors;

(2) To promote Sabah as the MICE hub for the surrounding region, especially in the context of BIMP-EAGA (Brunei Darussalam-Indonesia-Malaysia-Philippines East ASEAN Growth Area);

(3) To serve as a platform and conducive environment for both public and private sectors to network, establish contacts and strategic business ties among local and international businessmen.

The last 5 SIE’s were continuously supported by the State Government of Sabah, in particular the Ministry of Industrial Development (MID) together with the Department of Industrial Development and Research (DIDR). The Ministry of Agriculture & Food Industry (MAFI) supported the SIE by introducing Agriculture booth pavilion during the last expo in 2008.

The recent and striking SIE2008 alone had brought together 50,000 visitors and 29 different international countries partaking in the trade fair. The prestigious 4 day expo has a total number of almost 400 booths making it the biggest exposition held in Sabah.
