Implementation of Mandatory Standards on Iron and Steel Products

In an effort to prevent the influx the sub-standards products into the country, the Government has implemented mandatory standards for iron and steel products. The compliance of mandatory standards for products which have Malaysian Standards (MS) is effective from 1st August 2009. SIRIM QAS Sarawak is no longer receiving manual application from January 2010. All applicants must have an account with Dagang.net in order to apply for Certificate of Approval (COA) or exemption through E-permit. For all the 5 sector industries that are exempted for COA before, it is required that your company apply for full type test report in order to apply for exemption. This is because, in order to be entitled for exemption, a full type test must be done and the report shall be attached together with your application for exemption through Dagang.net's E-permit. Last year's exemptions are valid until end of this January. After January, all are required to do application with the availability of full type test report. Below are the details for E-permit application: Dagang Net Technologies, Tower 3, Avenue 5, The Horizon, Bangsar South, No. 8, Jalan Kerinchi, 59200 Kuala Lumpur.
