New Requirement for Food Exports to China
With reference to the letter from Food Safety and Quality Division, Ministry of Health Malaysia dated 6 September 2012, addressed to SMA , please be informed that for the purpose of further enhancing the supervision and administration of import foods, and in line with the provisions of the Food Safety Law of the People’s Republic of China and its implementation regulations, the special provisions of the State Council on strengthening supervision and administration of foods and other products, the administrative measures on safety of import and export foods as well as provisions of other laws and regulations, the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine (AQSIQ) has formulated the Administrative Provisions on Filing of Importers and Exporters of Imported Foods and Administrative Provisions on Recording of Importing and Marketing of Imported Foods. They are hereby approved and promulgated and shall come into force as of October 1, 2012.
On April 4, 2012, AQSIQ published a Notice requiring the registration with its Inspection and Quarantine Bureau of exporters and importers of food products to China. For this purpose, AQSIQ developed an E-filing website, http://ire.eciq.cn. The new regulations enforced on 1October 2012.
