Get Malaysian Business Online (GMBO)
Google, Ministry of Information Communications and Culture, Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission, .my Domain Registry, and iTrain (M) Sdn Bhd have joined forces to create Get Malaysian Business Online. With the mission to help Malaysian businesses benefit from the opportunities of the Internet, they are dedicated to helping businesses succeed online.
At the launching of the GMBO Sarawak, Mr.Sajith Sivanandan, Google Malaysia Country Manager said that slightly over 100,000 SMEs in the country have websites out of the700,000 currently doing business, including more than 33,000 SMEs in Sarawak. Most of the SMEs in the state do not use the website to expand their business.
He said that “The GMBO initiative is committed to Sarawak and together with our partners, we’re investing in a big way to help Sarawak-based businesses get online and grow in the long term.”
The launching was officiated by YB Datuk Mohd Naroden Majais, Assistant Minister in the Chief Minister’s Office on 2 March 2012 at Pullman Hotel Kuching.
